The following funds are presently available for contributions:

SCHOOL FUNDS:

Donations received will be utilized to provide resources within the schools and to assist with the costs of school activities. Each school operated by the UGDSB has a fund set up in its name and donors may direct their contribution to a specific school or schools.

Donations received but not designated to a specific school will be allocated to the General Fund.

GENERAL FUNDS:

Donors may provide support for schools by contributing to this fund. Schools will apply for funds for specific projects by preparing the Application for Funding. The Board of Directors will allocate these funds when available.

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS:

The Foundation can be used to establish scholarship and award funds to ensure that resources are available for the continuing education and training of deserving students. These funds can be either specific to individual schools or system-wide. Scholarship funds can be established in honour of, or in memory of specific individuals, corporations or other organizations. Donations can be made directly or by planned giving such as a bequest through a will or a gift of life insurance. Please contact the Foundation for details.

COMMUNITY FUNDS:

Community groups or organizations in Wellington and Dufferin counties may enter into a partnership with the Foundation to establish a fund in their own name to support their educational projects. Community resources can be channelled through this fund to areas of need.

ENDOWMENT FUNDS:

The Foundation is prepared to set up endowment funds for long term support of schools or programmes. These may be named in honour of, or in memory of, specific individuals, companies or organizations. Please contact the Foundation for information.

OPERATING FUND:

The costs of the Foundation are paid for by this fund. Donations and administration fees provide the funding. Any surplus that remains at the end of the year is transferred into the General Fund.

OTHER FUNDS:

From time to time potential donors may indicate that they are interested in providing funds for learning opportunities in a specific area of interest (eg the Arts or Environment or Technology) Special purpose funds can be established depending upon the amount of donation and interest from other possible donors. Such funds will only be set up on a broad basis and cannot be school specific. Please contact the Foundation for further information.
